The Cameron Suspension Bridge crossing the Little Colorado River at Cameron, Arizona, USA. The bridge formerly carried U.S. Route 89 connecting the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations to Northern Arizona, and served as a gateway to the south rim of the grand canyon across native lands. It was replaced by a newer deck truss bridge in 1959, and the Cameron Suspension Bridge was sold to the Four Corners Pipeline Company and carries a natural gas pipeline, but is now closed to to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Originally "Tanner's Crossing" the bridge was built in 1911 with an overall length of 680 feet spanning 660 feet of canyon. It is the oldest suspension bridge in Arizona, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in June of 1986.
